Keep Enduring

For over four years, I’ve been battling a chronic disease called polycystic kidney disease, which led to my kidneys completely shutting down. Since then, I’ve been undergoing kidney treatments at home to sustain myself while waiting for a transplant. Though the journey has been tough, I’ve kept my faith alive. Thanks to my incredible friend, Michelle Silva, who selflessly donated her kidney, I now have a second chance at life and the opportunity to receive a transplant.

Today, I’m waiting for that call that will bring me closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.

This experience has inspired my "Scuba Diver" series, a collection that reflects courage and survival in the face of adversity. I’ve always admired the brave old-school divers who risked their lives to give us the chance to explore and appreciate the underwater world—a world I hold close to my heart and actively protect through my art and collaboration with ocean conservation organizations.

The helmet in my series symbolizes the protection we need to face life’s struggles. Like the weight of the helmet, the burdens we carry may feel heavy, but they are essential for gaining the experience needed to survive. The rope represents the lifeline we rely on—those friends who are always there to lend a hand when we need it most. The boat waiting for the diver is, to me, a symbol of our creator—the one who gives us strength and somehow carries us through.

The first painting in this series is called Keep Enduring. It speaks to the importance of staying above water, no matter the obstacles we face. Drowning is simply not an option.

All proceeds from this series will go directly toward my recuperation. Thank you for your continued love and support.
